The Bachelor Of Computer Information System (BCIS)
program is a four-year academic program that focuses on the utilization
of the concepts of Information Technology to solve organizational
problems. The objective of this program is to prepare students
who can use the power of computers along with the concepts, tools
and techniques of management to solve the problems of business
and social organization.
This program attempts to develop the technical
skills and organizational insights in students to analyze, design
and implement, and manage information system. Students along with
the concept of management will learn system development, database
design, network design, and integration of these skills for problem
solving.
This program emphasis on both theoretical and practical
aspects of learning management and information technology,enable
students to identify and analyze the problems and find their solution
efficiently and efficiently. |

Program Objectives |
The BCIS program at the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) of Pokhara University is designed with the following aims: |
- To prepare students to take entry level managerial positions at the start of a professional career in computer and management.
- To inculcate positive attitudes and practical skills essential for
component and responsible computer professional
- To develop a necessary foundation for higher studies in Computer Information System

Program Features |
The Bachelor of Computer Information
System (BCIS) program is the first of its kind in the country.
It is an intensive program that strongly and adequately emphasizes
both conceptual and foundations and practical applications in
the areas of information technology and management. As the BCIS
program is comparable to similar elsewhere in the world, our student,
upon graduation in BCIS program, will have an added advantage
of being able to directly pursue Master's Degree in any University.
The medium of instruction and examination for BCIS is English. A
student is expected to have good English language proficiency and
an acceptable communication skill.
In the program, lectures are supported by case studies, group discussions,
project assignments, fields visits, class presentations and other
teaching methods. Students participation in class, group-discussion
and individual presentations is highly emphasized to develop their
leadership and communication skills. |
